About the Department


MCA at SRMCEM is a two-year degree programme. The course is meant to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of information technology. The MCA program prepares students to take up positions of system analysts, system designers, programmers and managers in any filed related to information technology. The MCA programme at SRMCEM is a specialized training course enabling students to come to terms with application-based knowledge of IT field. During the programme, the student may opt for various electives, such as Advanced Database Management Systems, Mobile Computing, Network, Pattern Recognition, Cyber LAWS, and Compiler Design.

Prof. Gaurav Mishra is currently working as Professor and Head of Department of Department of Computer Applications at SRMGPC, Lucknow. He also has the additional responsibility as Associate Director(PG).He has more than 18 years of teaching experience and is working in the college since 2003. After doing his graduation from Lucknow University, he received his MCA degree in 2002, from Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly known as Agra University). His area of interest is Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Design and Analysis of Algorithms. He has several publications in journals and conferences of international/national repute. He has also been member of various programme committee/ technical Committee /review board for many international conferences/journals. He is also the Life Member of Computer Society of India(CSI).He was also a Resource Person for the Wipro Mission10x program, and had taken several workshops for enhancing teaching skills of faculty. He is presently an active member of Value Education Cell of APJAKTU, and has also taken workshops on behalf of AICTE.

Ms Khushnuma Ashraf is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of MCA. Her subject areas are Programming languages, Networking, Data Structures, Web Technology. She had joined SRMCEM recently. She prefers to teach students with new ideas and techniques. Her previous organisations were Mahila Degree College, Study Hall Degree College. She has more than 7yrs of teaching experience. Her research interest is Cryptography techniques.

Mr. Badal is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Application. He has done Master of computer application from Central University of Lucknow (Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University) in Year 2023, and completed Bachelors in Computer application from Lucknow University in 2021. He has industrial experience of being an Android Developer at a startup called Deriva and has technical knowledge of subjects, Operating System, Database Management System, C++, Java, Kotlin, Programming Languages, Mobile app development, Web Development, passionate in teaching in these as well.

Prior to SRMCEM he was associated for 9 long years with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Raebareli, He was working as an Assistant Professor in Fashion Communication Department, having taught subject like digital design & communication, Design Research, design Strategy & system thinking etc. And 8 Years with Institute of Environment & Management College affiliated to AKTU Lucknow he was working as an assistant professor in Computer Application Department, having taught subject like Operating System, Data Structure, E- commerce, Operation Research, software engineering, DBMS, DCN etc.

Ms. Archana Singh has received M. Tech. (Software Engineering) in 2014 and MCA in 2012. Presently she is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Application at SRMCEM, Lucknow since 2022. her teaching Interest Includes Software Engineering, Software Testing, Theory Of Automation, C Programming, OOPS and C++, JAVA, Database Management System, Data Mining. Her Research Interests Primarily AI base White box software testing. She is pursuing her Research in “AI-based White box Testing Techniques” from Integral University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission for 85% of the total seats are done by A.K.T.U through UPSEE.

Rest 15% seats are filled by the management of the college on the basis of merit and criteria decided by A.K.T.U. Lucknow.

Qualified candidates, who have clearly passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10 + 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University and have secured minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST Category candidates ) with/without grace marks.
