LABS

1) PCB and Electronics Workshop Lab:

• The students get exposure to design, simulate and formation of various PCB boards using industry standard PCB design software tools like Orcad PCB Design which help them to apply knowledge of engineering to design and conduct experiments using PCB designing software.
• It helps students to enhance their knowledge about various electronics components both passive as well as active.
• Lab is also equipped with different measurement kits to analyse and understand the measurement process.

2) Project Lab:

The project work by the final year undergraduate engineering students is the most important part of their course curriculum. It provides the opportunity to the students to apply their innovative ideas for the unique application of technology for the real world. A blend of the energy of youth and mature supervision of the faculty members can produce high quality end product that can not only be useful for the college but also for the society. From this point of view we propose certain procedures for the allotment, supervision and assessment of the project. This procedure includes:

1. Addressing of students by project coordinators, submission and selection of project by the end of VI semester.
2. Allotment of project guides to students, presentation and assessment of students’ work progress continuously during VII semester.
3. Final documentation, submission and assessment in VIII semester.

3) Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab:

The purpose of this lab is to make the students compatible with the real time applications using Assembly language programming of 8085, 8086 microprocessors, and different microcontrollers like 8051 etc. Fundamental knowledge of microprocessor like basic architecture, operation, and special purpose applications, programming techniques & debugging skills, etc - students may learn from this lab. This lab is very helpful to carry out high quality research works and to provide a platform to the students for multidisciplinary projects.

4) Network Analysis and Synthesis Lab:

The Circuit Theory laboratory is intended for the students to acquire in depth practical knowledge of theoretical laws, different circuit components and their functioning in electrical circuits. The laboratory experiments, mostly simulation based are designed in order to enhance the students’ understanding of important analytical principles developed in this course and let the students engage in different real time applications solving complex problems.

5) Electronics device and circuit lab:

The main objective is to understand the importance of op-amp in various applications like Precision Rectifiers, Filters, and DAC; to design the non-linear application of op-amp such as Schmitt circuit; To study and design the application of 555 timer like mono-stable Multivibrator; Familiarize the conversion of data from Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog and to Design and construct waveform generation circuits using op-amp.

6) Analog Electronics Lab:

This lab correlates theoretical concepts of various analog electronics circuits with practical feasibility; thereby students learn different electronics circuits and its electrical characteristics in a better way. This lab provides ample opportunities towards students to design electronic solutions to meet specified requirements & test the design either on bread board or using simulation software. Thus the acquired knowledge guides them to implement various real time projects in future.

7) Integrated Circuits Lab:

IC lab caters to the need of facilities in the electronics field by training the students to make a valuable contribution. In this lab, designing of various filters, comparators, log-antilog amplifiers and peak detector circuits is done using operational amplifier IC. This lab develops theoretical concepts by designing circuits on board and simulating them on PSpice. The objective of the lab is to prepare students with a good foundation in electronics field so that they become graduates and effective systems engineers.

8) Communication Lab (I & II)

Communication Lab is in curriculum of ECE Department to study the concepts of Analog and Digital Communication engineering. It enables the data to be transmitted in an efficient manner through the use of digitally encoded information. In this lab, various baseband and pass band modulations are studied and simulated using MATLAB alongwith calculation of BER. Various error detection and correction codes are also studied.

9) Microwave Engineering Lab

The main aim of Microwave Lab is to enhance students’ skills in the Microwave Communication field. It consists of various microwave benches having Klystron and Gunn diode as microwave sources. By using these benches, one can find out various characteristics of microwave devices like circulators, isolators, couplers, tees, etc. This lab also includes experiments of optical fibre communication & various antennas. By using the Trainers, students can develop Analog and Digital communication link and also used for verification of multiplexing and demultiplexing of signals.

10) Optical Communication & Networking Lab:

In this Lab, students’ get exposure of concept of Optical fiber /networking protocols like FTP, HTTP, serial communication protocol and losses in optical fiber. Students also learn to make subnet, understand and configure router/ web and DHCP servers/ VLAN.
Apart from above mentioned, students also study different noise parameters, multiplexing techniques, waveform generation, characteristics of fiber optic, LED’s and photo detector.

11) Digital System Design Lab

The lab is fully equipped with trainer kits, test equipments and other support accessories to meet all the requirements of the university curriculum and has many more equipments to widen horizons of knowledge for the students. RS-, JK-, D- and T- Flip Flops, bread boards and components for component level implementations, multiplexer/ demultiplexer, shift registers, Half- and Full- adder, addition/ subtraction circuit, synchronous counters, asynchronous counters, oscilloscopes, multi- meters and function generators are all available to get several groups of students to undertake experiments at same time.

12) Signal and System Lab

In this laboratory student get acquainted that how the signals interact with the physical systems & realize the panoramic view of signals & systems. This signal processing concept is equally important to understand the fundamental concepts of digital signal processing & prerequisite to study of communication engineering. This Laboratory is specially designed to enhance the capabilities of the students for understanding the various tools of signal analysis through software based programming i.e MATLAB programming.

13) Electronic Circuits Design Lab:

In this practical course students perform a design oriented project work using various analog/ digital building blocks which they have already studied.
The project may include but not restricted to any of the following: biquad/Amplitude control applied to any sinusoidal oscillators, function generator, any application of log/antilog circuits and any digital system design and its hardware implementation using TTL/ CMOS ICs etc.

14) Control System Lab

Control system Lab helps students using different MATLAB control system toolbox. By using these toolboxes, students are able to determine the step response for first order and second order system with unity feedback & calculate control system specification like Time constant, % peak overshoot, settling time etc. From the response they also plot Root locus, Bode plot and Nyquist plot.
