About the Department


Department of Mathematics essentially caters to the students of B. Tech First year apart from the students of other years in teaching them a wide range of foundation courses. The department is unique in its attempt of perspective building of students and in initiating and strengthening their ideological maturity and scientific temper. The department has a stable climate leading to conducive environment for growth and learning. It helps newcomers in assuming identity in the college the right way.

Faculty members of the department are extensively engaged in research in their areas along with their qualification enhancement so that the students could be moulded in the best of the formative influences.

Dr. S. Ali

Dr. S. Ali received his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2001 from Lucknow University, Lucknow. Dr. Ali is working with Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC), since its inception in 2001. He has an experience of teaching mathematics at UG and PG level including an international assignment at a university under the Ministry of Higher Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Two Ph.D.s have been awarded in his supervision. He has published 20 research papers in journals of national and international repute. He has authored two books for engineering students. He has participated in about 30 conferences and has also organized various conferences of national and international level. He is also a member of various academic bodies. He also discharged various administrative duties ranging from Head of Department to Director.

Dr. Shah Alam Siddiqui did his Ph.D. from AMU, Aligarh in 2010. He has published 14 research articles in international, peer-reviewed journals and has been cited more than 150 times, with an h-index of 4. His research work has focused on General Relativity, Differential Geometry, and Applied Mathematics. He has over 13 years of experience as an academician.

Dr. Gyan Prakash Rathore, an accomplished Assistant Professor, is a distinguished scholar with a strong academic background. With three years of valuable teaching experience, they have honed their pedagogical skills and inspired countless students. Dr. Mahtab Alam

Dr. Mahtab Alam after completing his Ph.D. from Integral University, Lucknow in 2024, joined as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics. His research area is lightlike submanifolds of statistical manifolds. He has published 3 research papers in international journals. He also presented two papers in international conferences. He has six year teaching experiences from different universities and colleges.

Ms. Pooja Gupta is pursuing her Ph.D in Mathematics from Lucknow University and completed her M.Sc. in Mathematics in year 2017 from Lucknow University. She has qualified CSIR-NET (LS) exam in the year 2017. Her area of interest is pure mathematics.

Sachin Singh has completed his M.Sc. in mathematics in the year 2019 from Lucknow University. He has qualified CSIR NET EXAM & GATE exam in the year 2021. His areas of interest is pure mathematics.


Dr. Geeta Verma

Dr. Geeta Verma is working as an Associate Professor at SRMGPC. She has completed her Ph.D. from University of Lucknow, in 2002. She has an overall teaching experience of 22 years. She recieved several government scholarships during her studies. Her area of expertise is Geometry of Manifold. She has published 26 research papers in national and international journals and several research papers in conference proceedings. Dr. Verma has supervised 3 M.Phils. She is presently supervising a Ph. D. She is member of Bharat Ganita Parishad and Tensor Society of India, Lucknow.


Dr. Shiv Charan

Dr. Shiv Charan is working as an Assistant Professor. He received his PG (Mathematics) in 2003. He has done his Ph.D in June 2020. His area of research is Numerical Analysis. He is involved in teaching mathematics at UG and PG level. He has published 6 research papers in national and international journals and has participated in about 10 national and international conferences.


Mr. Arunesh Kumar Mishra

Mr. Arunesh Kumar Mishra is presently working as an Assistant Professor at SRMGPC, Lucknow. He has done his Master’s degree in Mathematics with specialization in Statistics from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya. He obtained his M.Phil degree in Mathematical Statistics (MRI and MRS) from University of Lucknow and SGPGI, Lucknow in 2009. His area of expertise in M.Phil is Application of Statistics in NMR (MRI & MRS). He has been teaching for more than ten years in this institute. He is also lifetime member of NMR society.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Engineering Graduates will be able to

PO 1. Engineering Knowledge: – Apply the knowledge of mathematics science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to a solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2. Problem analysis:- Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusion using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 3. Design / Development of solutions:- Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

PO 4. Conduct investigation of complex problems:- use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 5. Modern tool usage:- create select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO 6. The Engineer and Society:- apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assossocietal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issue and consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO 7. Environment and sustainability:- understand the impact of the professional engineering solution in societal and environmental contents, and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

PO 8. Ethics:- apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO 9. Individual and team works:- factions effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary settings.

PO 10. Communications:- communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive if clear instructions.

PO 11. Project management and finance:- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO 12. Lifelong learning:- recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in the dependant and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological changes.
