Department of Mathematics essentially caters to the students of B. Tech First year apart from the students of other years in teaching them a wide range of foundation courses. The department is unique in its attempt of perspective building of students and in initiating and strengthening their ideological maturity and scientific temper. The department has a stable climate leading to conducive environment for growth and learning. It helps newcomers in assuming identity in the college the right way.
Faculty members of the department are extensively engaged in research in their areas along with their qualification enhancement so that the students could be moulded in the best of the formative influences.
Dr. S. Ali received his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2001 from Lucknow University, Lucknow. Dr. Ali is working with Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC), since its inception in 2001. He has an experience of teaching mathematics at UG and PG level including an international assignment at a university under the Ministry of Higher Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Two Ph.D.s have been awarded in his supervision. He has published 20 research papers in journals of national and international repute. He has authored two books for engineering students. He has participated in about 30 conferences and has also organized various conferences of national and international level. He is also a member of various academic bodies. He also discharged various administrative duties ranging from Head of Department to Director.

Engineering Graduates will be able to PO 1. Engineering Knowledge: – Apply the knowledge of mathematics science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to a solution of complex engineering problems. PO 2. Problem analysis:- Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusion using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. PO 3. Design / Development of solutions:- Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations. PO 4. Conduct investigation of complex problems:- use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions. PO 5. Modern tool usage:- create select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations. PO 6. The Engineer and Society:- apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assossocietal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issue and consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice. PO 7. Environment and sustainability:- understand the impact of the professional engineering solution in societal and environmental contents, and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development. PO 8. Ethics:- apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice. PO 9. Individual and team works:- factions effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary settings. PO 10. Communications:- communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive if clear instructions. PO 11. Project management and finance:- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments. PO 12. Lifelong learning:- recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in the dependant and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological changes. |
