About the Department


Department of Humanities essentially caters to the students of B. Tech first year apart from the students of other years in teaching them a wide range of foundation courses. The department is unique in its attempt of perspective building of students and in initiating and strengthening their ideological maturity and scientific temper. The department has a stable climate leading to conducive environment for growth and learning. It helps newcomers in assuming identity in the college the right way. Faculty members of the department are extensively engaged in research in their areas along with their qualification enhancement so that the students could be moulded in the best of the formative influences.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Bajpaye is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities (Applied Sciences). His area of specialization is English. He has more than 15 years teaching experience at Graduate and Post Graduate level. He has published many research papers in various international journals and presented research papers in many national/international conferences. His area of interests is English Literature/Language, Post-colonialism, Technical/ Professional/ Business Communication, Soft Skills, and Universal Human Values & Professional Ethics.

Aparna Tripathi is an accomplished Assistant Professor of English with four years of dedicated teaching experience. Aparna's academic prowess is evident in her dissertation on Dalit literature, reflecting her deep understanding of diverse literary perspectives. She has also contributed to the academic discourse by publishing a paper on Anthropocene Literature in a notable anthology. Beyond the corporate realm, Aparna's multifaceted involvement includes being the Coordinator of the Step Cell Choreography Clubhouse, where her creative flair shines. Additionally, her role as the Coordinator of Aktuzonal Game Fest in Racing underscores her commitment to organizing and energizing events in diverse spheres. Ms. C. Blessy is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities. She has done her Post-graduation in English literature and is a gold medallist from SHUATS, Prayagraj. Dr. Divya Sharma is presently working as an Assistant professor in the Humanities Department at SRMCEM, Lucknow. She has an experience of more than 4 years in teaching engineering students. During the research work, she has written a dissertation on the famous writings of an eminent writer Manjula Padmanabhan, have presented many papers in national as well as international seminars and workshops, and have vigorously worked on American nature writers as her Ph.D thesis work.

Mr. Shivesh Bhatnagar is working as Assistant Professor in the Humanities Department at SRMCEM, Lucknow and has also worked as the Soft Skill Trainer in the previous role since 2019. He has completed his MBA & PGDBA (Dual) in Human Resource in 2009. He has also received his Executive Degree in General Management from IIM-Kozhikode in 2015. Besides Teaching Experience of more than 4 years, he also has over 9 years of Corporate Experience in Human Resource Department, handling multiple HR roles for Organizations such as HDFC Bank, Videocon Industries, Airtel and American Tower Corporation (ATC), winning many awards. He has Articles Published related to HR in Times Ascent and LinkedIn. He presented a paper on “Workplace in The Digital Age & Challenges for HR (Human Resource)” in the International Conference on E-Business (ICON e-Biz: 2019) held at SRMGPC. He is member of ORCHID, SCOPUS, NDL & e-Vidwan. He has also done multiple certification courses from SWAYAM on “Enhancing Soft Skills and Personality” (Elite + Silver Certification), “Human Behaviour” and “Understanding Design Thinking & People Centered Design” besides completing ones on “Organizational Behavior”, “Organizational Design” & “Training of Trainers”. Currently pursuing the one on “Language, Culture & Cognition: An Introduction”. He has received the certificate of appreciation for the “Excellent Academic Feedback” for 2019-20, besides attending overall 100+ Seminars, Webinars & Workshops on his subject area.

He has got his doctoral degree from the University of Lucknow in Sociology. He has many research publications in the field of sociology. His interest lies in Sociology, Human Values and Indian Social Thinkers.

About Language Lab

The language lab is based on highly advanced LSRW skills based language lab software, "ORELL TALK SMART SOFTWARE" from Orell Techno Systems Pvt Ltd. The computer lab has 35 computers and 1 master computer for the instructor. Every student is provided with a lab workbook so that the student could be able to crystallize well what is demonstrated in the lab. Each practical is conducted in such a way that it first unfolds its purpose, thereafter, elaborates on its methodology and process, and then concludes with anticipated outcome of learning in students with hints in the end for evaluation parameters. All this is done with focus on three main points:

a) Making students grasp the content of practicals clearly ;
b) Making them perform in real time what they have grasped ;
c) Making them deliver skillfully in day to day life all that they have grasped and performed in their practicals.

About Oral Communication Lab

Communication is one of the must have skills for every student. Professional Communication Lab is well equipped to hone up communication centered skills of students by including relevant communication situations and meaningful demonstrations in practicals. PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Engineering Graduates will be able to

PO 1. Engineering Knowledge: – Apply the knowledge of mathematics science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to a solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2. Problem analysis:- Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusion using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 3. Design / Development of solutions:- Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

PO 4. Conduct investigation of complex problems:- use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 5. Modern tool usage:- create select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO 6. The Engineer and Society:- apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assossocietal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issue and consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO 7. Environment and sustainability:- understand the impact of the professional engineering solution in societal and environmental contents, and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

PO 8. Ethics:- apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO 9. Individual and team works:- factions effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary settings.

PO 10. Communications:- communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give and receive if clear instructions.
